Quadruple overtime. New UIL rules that changed the overtime process in high school football games for 2022 have left many fans unsure of what they are watching.

The Timpson Bears went head-to-head with the Frankston Indians in the second week of playoffs for the 2022 Texas high school season. Timpson came away with the win, defeating Frankston, 49-7.

The Center Roughriders took on the Liberty-Eylau Leopards at Hallsville in the first week of playoffs for the 2022 Texas high school season and came away with the victory, 67-21. In a cold and wet Friday night contest, Kaden Dixon accounted for about three-fourths of the Riders yardage and more than half of the scoring with 409 rushing yards (one for 89 yards), a 65-yard kickoff return, six touchdowns, and one two-point conversion.

The Center Roughriders will meet the Aubrey Chaparrals for the area championship Saturday, November 19 at 6 p.m. in the Tyler Rose Stadium, 609 Fair Park Drive in Tyler.

A power outage in the fourth quarter brought about an abrupt end to the Shelbyville Dragons’ season during their bi-district matchup with the Centerville Tigers. At the time of the outage, Shelbyville trailed 51-13 and elected to bow out gracefully rather than wait an undetermined amount of time for power to be restored.

The Joaquin Rams kicked off playoffs with a bi-district beat down of the Leon Cougars. Joaquin scored 61 unanswered points to earn the victory and cash their ticket to the area round of playoff action.
