The Center Tennis Association fundraiser to support community tennis programs, the high school tennis team, and facility projects is set for Saturday, Nov. 27 from 10 a.m.to 4 p.m. at the Center high school tennis courts.

Dragons prevail in 53-46 nailbiter with West Sabine

Playoff season started early for the Shelbyville Dragons and the West Sabine Tigers last week as they found themselves locked into a “win-and-in” situation. Both team’s district record sat at 2-3 headed into this matchup with only one spot left for a playoff berth.

Joaquin meets Leon following off week

The Joaquin Rams had an open date last week. They will meet the Leon Cougars in the bi-district round of playoffs Friday, Nov. 11 at 7:00 p.m. The game will be played at the Jacksonville High School Tomato Bowl Stadium.

Two surprise teams in 4A (Div II) District 9 have turned heads this season. Center certainly surprised the prognosticators who ranking them #53 (of 93) and 5th best in our 7-team district.

Timpson tames the Dragons

The Timpson Bears scored 67 points Thursday night while allowing the Shelbyville Dragons 14. Number one ranked Timpson remains undefeated on the season.

Joaquin Lady Rams compete in Huntsville

The Joaquin Lady Rams represented District 23 as the 2nd place team competing at the 2022 Region 3 Cross Country track meet Monday, Oct. 24 in Huntsville.“The girls worked hard and represented well,” said Joaquin ISD Athletic Director Steven McCann.“The Lady Rams had a successful season,and we look forward to competing in 2023.
