The Tenaha Tigers hosted the Cushing Bearkats last Saturday at their homecoming game for their third district game of the season. Tenaha earned a 28-7 win over the Bearkats to remain undefeated in district play.

At halftime, the Tigers held a 7-0 advantage over Cushing. Tenaha extended that lead to 14 in the third quarter before adding a pair of touchdowns in the final quarter.

Brikelian Kenney led the offense from the quarterback position with 154 yards passing, two touchdowns, and one interception. Kenney also carried the ball eight times for 70 yards and a touchdown.

Senior wide receiver Ja’Tyrian Moore led the team with eight receptions, 141 yards, and a touchdown. Running back Jordan Reese had 10 carries for 86 yards. DJ Cooks ran the ball five times for 30 yards and a touchdown.

Defensively, Cooks led the team with 15 total tackles and a fumble recovery. Junior Seth Stokes was next with 11 tackles and one fumble recovered. Kenney was able to get involved on the defensive side of the ball as well with a total of nine tackles. Underclassman Ferg Ross had five total tackles with one sack. Moore and Shaun Carson are each credited with causing a fumble. The Tigers are currently tied for first place in 2A Division II District 11 with the Overton Mustangs. The Mustangs and Tigers are set to clash for a district championship in the last game of the regular season if both teams remain unbeaten this Friday.

Tenaha will need to deal with Mount Enterprise before looking any further ahead. The Wildcats will be hosting the Tigers on Friday night at 7:00 pm.
