The Timpson Bears are headed to the state semifinals for the fourth year in a row after defeating their long-time rival Garrison. In a week filled with upsets, the Bulldogs were unable to overcome their underdog status.

The Center Recreation Department Final Signup for basketball is underway. Last day for signups is Thursday, Nov. 30 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Cost is $60 per child (ages 4-12). Cash, check or card accepted. Sign up is also available at City Hall at 617 Tenaha Street.

The Tenaha Tigers’ season ended Friday with a 50-14 defeat at the hands of the Lovelady Lions. Tenaha’s season ends with a 10-3 overall record. Their advancement to the regional round placed them among the top 16 2A Division II teams in the state.

Tenaha is headed to the regional round of Texas 2A-DII playoffs after their 22-14 win over the Dawson Bulldogs pushing their overall record to 10-2. The Tigers battled back from a 14-6 halftime deficit to secure the win. Heading into the fourth quarter the Tigers trailed 14-12.
