Tenaha is headed to the regional round of Texas 2A-DII playoffs after their 22-14 win over the Dawson Bulldogs pushing their overall record to 10-2. The Tigers battled back from a 14-6 halftime deficit to secure the win. Heading into the fourth quarter the Tigers trailed 14-12. Their efforts in the final quarter resulted in 10 points and the victory.

Junior quarterback Brikelian Keeney completed 12 of 19 passes for 129 yards. He also carried the ball eight times for a total of 76 yards and two touchdowns. Senior Jordan Reese totted the load for the Tigers with 17 carries for 90 yards. Kamarion Ross had three carries for four yards and a touchdown. D.J. Cooks had four carries for 37 yards and Avanta Fredieu took the handoff three times for 23 yards.

Ja’Tyrian Moore had three receptions for 64 yards. Ross caught six for 37 yards. Ja’Torion Moore reeled in one pass for a five-yard gain.

D.J. Cooks was all over the place on defense totaling 14 tackles and a sack. Kamarion Ross is credited with an interception returned for nine yards and four tackles. Seth Stokes had seven tackles and a fumble recovery.

Christian Rodriquez sent the ball through the uprights on a field goal attempt and one point after attempt for a total of four points.

Tenaha now moves to the regional round where they will face the Lovelady Lions. Lovelady is currently sitting at a perfect 12-0 season and will be a tough team to beat.

Tenaha will need to show up ready to play in order to move forward with what has already been an excellent season.
