47th East Texas Poultry Festival seeks arts & crafts vendors
Planning is underway for the 47th East Texas Poultry Festival, presented by Farmers State Bank. The Poultry Festival will be held October 5-7 on the historic downtown Center square.
Lunch and Learn set for May 24; Mental Health Awareness
The Chamber of Commerce Health Care Committee is hosting the May Lunch and Learn on Wednesday, May 24 at noon at the AgriLife Extension Office. The guest speaker for May will be Charlotte Stanaland, Youth Prevention Specialist at the The Alcohol and Drug Abuse Council of Deep East Texas.

First Responders Appreciation Lunch Scheduled for May 19th
Center Independent School District and the Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors will host an Appreciation Lunch for First Responders throughout Shelby County this Friday, May 19 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the Center ISD Transportation Department.
Campti Methodist Church hosts their annual homecoming every 3rd Sunday in the month of May. This year, homecoming will be Sunday, May 21.
The business meeting will begin at 11:00 A.M. followed by lunch at 12:00.

Members of VFW Post 8904 and the Auxiliary gathered Monday with family and friends to remember VE (Victory in Europe). The remembrance was held at the Veterans Memorial on the grounds of the 1885 Courthouse.
