"Local members of the community joined pastors, leaders, and first responders from Shelby County as they prayed for our city, community, schools and neighbors..."
The annual National Day of Prayer event was Thursday, May 4 at noon in front of Center's Historic Courthouse.
Sponsored by the Ministerial Alliance of Shelby County, the National Day of Prayer began in the 1950's by President Eisenhower and is observed by towns and cities around America on the first Thursday of May.
Local members of the community joined pastors, leaders, and first responders from Shelby County as they prayed for our city, community, schools and neighbors.
Prayers were given by David Mathis, Sheriff Windham, Josh Crawford and many other community pastors and leaders.
City of Center's Fire Department showed up with a truck and raised the American Flag over the courthouse lawn as everyone participated in an afternoon of prayer.
