The Fannie Brown Brown Booth Memorial Library is pleased to announce they are the recipients of the 2025 John Reagan Harris Community Fund at East Texas Communities Foundation Grant. The grant will be used to enhance the library’s services such as hotspots and children’s books.

October proclaimed Domestic Violence Awareness Month
On October 9, 2025 VFW Post 8904 remembered the 24th anniversary of Operation Enduring Freedom and the service and sacrifice of Afghanistan veterans. Two Army veterans from Shelby County were lost in this War on Terror; Sergeant Kevin “Casey” Roberts and Specialist Cory Bertrand. Post Commander Derrick Roberts placed the Memorial Wreath during the ceremony. Submitted | Light and Champion
