The Center Police Department Ladies Auxiliary and Operation Blue Santa are looking for the fastest runners with the 2nd Annual Hide and Seek from the Police!The hunt will take place on Oct. 27, 2025, at the end of Halloween in the Hole at the Center Baseball Fields. Sign-ups start at 5:30 p.m.

CISD board recognizes staff, hears staffing, screen reports

Zack ClarkApproving Jake Henson as the Superintendent, recognizing staff and the middle school, accepting a donation to the athletics program, and hearing beginning of the year data were the main items of interest at the Center ISD board meeting held on Wed., Oct. 8.

Local cities show positive sales tax revenues returns

Kelly Hancock, Acting Texas Comptroller, announced that he will disburse $1.1 billion in local sales tax allocations for October, 3.9 percent more than in October 2024. These allocations are based on sales made in August by businesses that report tax monthly.
On Monday, Oct. 13, Shelby Savings Banks along with support from BOM Bank, Farmers State Bank, Sabine State Bank and Austin Bank, collaborated to offer $10 hamburger meals for the Texas Banks Community Day of Service. They set up on the Center square with a large grill and a dedicated team preparing food for pickup and delivery. All proceeds from the meal will go directly to Boo’s Battle Fund, which supports individuals and families as they fight their battle with cancer. Zack Clark | Light and Champion
