On October 9, 2025 VFW Post 8904 remembered the 24th anniversary of Operation Enduring Freedom and the service and sacrifice of Afghanistan veterans. Two Army veterans from Shelby County were lost in this War on Terror; Sergeant Kevin “Casey” Roberts and Specialist Cory Bertrand.
