Dragons capture Regional Semi-Finals title

After getting back into postseason play following the disqualification of the team that originally knocked them out, the Shelbyville Dragons baseball team pulled out two wins in a three-game series over last weekend to become Regional Semi-Finals champs.

56.8 pounder takes top spot in Neches River Life Big Cat event

Kirk Folse of Chauvin, LA., topped a field of more than 1,450 anglers to win the Bass Champs Mega Bass event held April 12 at Lake Fork. Folse weighed in a 10.76 pounder that earned him $15,000 cash for big bass of the hour, plus a new Skeeter bass boat.

The Center Noon Lions Club recently held its annual Golf Tournament at Center County Club for fun and to raise money for the Center Noon Lions Club’s projects. The club has given away well over a million dollars to local charities, scholarships, and special projects.

Addison Lloyd, senior from Shelbyville ISD, has earned the opportunity to compete in the UIL State Golf Tournament, which will be held May 4–5. She secured her place at state by fi nishing No. 1 at the regional tournament in Jacksonville.
