Center’s Roughriders took on the Louisiana state powerhouse North Desoto Griffins Friday night in Stonewall. The ‘Riders came away with a narrow defeat, 52-57. A Griffin is a half-lion/half eagle from the Greek mythological past.

Local students named to SNHU President’s List

Terri Nugent of Joaquin and Adam Vigil of Shelbyville were named to the Summer 2023 President’s List. The summer terms run from May to August. Full-time undergraduate students who have earned a minimum grade-point average of 3.700 and above for the reporting term are named to the President’s List.

Center defeats Springhill 66-20

After setting a state mark and a school record with prolific scoring in Week 1, the Roughriders kept their right foot on the accelerator again in Week 2, piling 66 points on the Springhill Panthers.

Over the past three years, Timpson has been a tough team to catch. Their tendency to score early and often has been a blight upon opposing teams. Last Friday, things started as usual, with the Bears piling up an early lead over their opponent.

Dragons fall in late game shootout

The Shelbyville Dragons are now even with a 1-1 record after falling to the Hemphill Hornets. After a relatively slow start in the first half, both teams began to click offensively during the second half for both teams.
