Sophomores Taylor Jones and Lanie Bass, Shelbyville Lady Dragon softball players, were named to the top 50 Class 2A softball athletes by the Texas Coaches Association, and to the All District 22 team. The Lady Dragons put up an 8-4 record in District before being defeated by Como-Pickton in the state quarterfinal round.

The Great Outdoors A nasty thunderstorm packing big wind, rain and dangerous lightning rolled across Lake Tawakoni on the afternoon of June 22. Justin Wright of Kaufman and Drew Moore of Chandler were on the water doing some noodling at the time.

Shelbyville Number Sense student Kason Parker earned a 5th place medal at the Academic State UIL meet May 18th. This marks Kason’s third year competing at the state meet and his second straight year earning an individual medal at state in Number Sense.
