Joaquin council okays emergency services petition

In response to a request from a county-wide group of concerned citizens, the Joaquin city council deliberated approving a petition to join the proposed Shelby County Emergency Services District No. 1 at its July 22 meeting.

Nearly a year ago, Dr. Robert Hughes and his family donated Hughes’ former veterinary practice location to aid Happy Tails in its push to provide care, comfort, and compassion to animals in need.
