Court sets 2025 proposed tax rate, transfers vehicles

World War II came to an end with the formal surrender of the Japanese on Sept. 2, 1945 aboard the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay. This day has become known as VJ Day (Victory over Japan). In honor of this, and all those who served in WWII, the Shelby County Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8904 and the Auxiliary held an observance on Tuesday at 9:00 a.m. at the Veterans Memorial on the grounds of the 1885 Historic Courthouse in Center.
