Food safety training offered by AgriLife

The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service is pleased to offer a Food Handler’s Course, accredited by the Texas Department of State Health Services. This essential training, titled “Food Safety: It’s In Your Hands,” will be hosted by the Shelby County Extension Office on Tuesday, Sept.

Chamber hosts Leadership conference for JCC youth

The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce hosted the Fall Leadership Conference and Orientation for Junior Chamber of Commerce students on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at the Civic Center. Over 200 JCC students were able to attend the Conference.

First Methodist Church of Shelbyville would like to invite everyone to our 200th Anniversary Oct. 26, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. where we will celebrate 200 years of the formation of our congregation. The First Methodist Church of Shelbyville was established in 1825.

The Altar of Incense in the Old Testament, also called the Way of Intercession, is symbolic of the prayers of the people. As the priest burned the incense on the altar, the smoke rose up to God as a sweet fragrance, as do the prayers of God’s children, but this altar had to be purified once a year.
