Southern Gospel music veteran Trey Wilson will appear in concert on Sunday, March 29, during the 11:00 a.m. worship service at Lydia Missionary Baptist Church in Shelbyville. Admission is free, and a love offering will be received during the service.

As expected, LiveScopers ruled the leaderboard in the Bassmaster Division 2 Opener held Feb. 19-21 on Sam Rayburn. With the lake level abnormally low and water temperatures warming to around 60 degrees, things set up perfectly for the field to reel in a bunch of big ol’ pre-spawn bass.

In remembrance of those who served in the Spanish-American War and those who died on the USS Maine, the Shelby County VFW Post 8904 held a wreath-laying at the Veteran's Memorial on the grounds of the historic Shelby County courthouse on Friday, Feb. 13.

Incumbents dominate local election results

Primary election day for 2026 has come and gone, with Republican candidates making an almost clean sweep of local offices in races that featured many unopposed incumbents. That clean sweep is still possible, but it will have to wait until November when the contest for County Comm. Pct.
