Southern Gospel music veteran Trey Wilson will appear in concert on Sunday, March 29, during the 11:00 a.m. worship service at Lydia Missionary Baptist Church in Shelbyville. Admission is free, and a love offering will be received during the service.

As expected, LiveScopers ruled the leaderboard in the Bassmaster Division 2 Opener held Feb. 19-21 on Sam Rayburn. With the lake level abnormally low and water temperatures warming to around 60 degrees, things set up perfectly for the field to reel in a bunch of big ol’ pre-spawn bass.

Shelbyville students Maddie Lout, Travis Caporali, Gaylon Harrison, and Addi Sowell are headed to the state competition in cross-examination debate. In the 2A District 24 competition, Addi and Gaylon placed 2nd, while Maddie and Travis secured 1st place.

In remembrance of those who served in the Spanish-American War and those who died on the USS Maine, the Shelby County VFW Post 8904 held a wreath-laying at the Veteran's Memorial on the grounds of the historic Shelby County courthouse on Friday, Feb. 13.
