Spring turkey season is just around the corner in most of the state. Depending on the area where you hunt, the season may already be underway.Texas is divided into three spring turkey hunting zones, each with unique season dates designed to coincide with peak breeding activity.

Local sales tax returns reveal overall increase

Acting Texas Comptroller Kelly Hancock said state sales tax revenue totaled $4 billion in February, 3.8 percent more than in February 2025. The majority of February sales tax revenue is based on sales made in January and remitted to the agency in February.

Grill Fest cook-off returns April 24, 25

The Grill Fest sanctioned barbecue cook-off will take place Friday, April 24 and Saturday, April 25 at the Windham Civic Center.Cook teams may register and enter the contest with a $150 registration fee prior to April 3 or $200 after that date. Register is open up until the day of the event.
