Shelbyville Speech and Debate students place in 2023 U.I.L. State Tournament

On May 17th and 18th, Shelbyville Speech and Debate students Ava Silva and Aubree Camp competed in the 2023 U.I.L. State Tournament. Aubree Camp placed 2nd in persuasive speaking. In persuasive speaking, students must speak extemporaneously about a topic related to current events.

Shelbyville High School State Medalist Kaylin Miller

Shelbyville I.S.D. sophomore, Kaylin Miller, is a double state medalist after she competed on May 17 at the 2023 U.I.L. State Meet in Austin. Kaylin competed in both News writing, earning a second place medal, and Editorial writing, earning a fourth place medal.
