The Tenaha Tigers squeaked out a victory over the Mount Enterprise Wildcats last Friday night. The two teams traded the lead several times in a hard-fought game twith neither team giving ground.

The Tigers prevailed, earning the final lead in the fourth giving them a 36-34 win on the road.

Three seniors toted the load for the Tigers in the running game. Kamarion Ross had 72 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries, Jordan Reese was handed the ball 12 times for 69 yards and a touchdown, and D.J. Cooks had seven carries for 45 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

Junior quarterback Brikelian Kenney completed eight passes for 71 yards. Kenney also had three carries for 15 yards. Senior Ja’Tyrian Moore led the team in receiving yards with five receptions for 62 yards.

Defensively, Cooks was a tackling machine. Not only did he come away with 20 tackles, but was also credited with a forced fumble. Jaylon Williams posted the next-best total with 15 tackles, one hurry, and one sack. Next was junior Shaun Carson who tallied 13 tackles. Ferg Ross had 12 tackles and a forced fumble. Kenney had 11 tackles and a fumble recovery.

Tenaha is a perfect 4-0 in district play. The only obstacle that remains between the Tigers and a district championship is Overton. The Overton Mustangs are undefeated through nine games.

It is appropriate that these two teams meet this week for a district title.
