The Tenaha Tigers started the season on a roll maintaining an undefeated record through the first three games of the season. Unfortunately, Tenaha came up just short in their battle with the Arp Tigers last Friday. Arp took the narrow victory 36-35.

Junior quarterback Brikelian Kenney threw for 171 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. He also carried the ball 11 times for 53 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Senior running back Jordan Reese led the team in rushing yards with 72 on 14 carries. D.J. Cooks carried the ball five times for 28 yards, and Shaun Carson rushed five times for 15 yards.

Senior Ja’Tyrian Moore reeled in eight catches for 74 yards and a touchdown. Fellow senior Kamarion Ross has seven catches for 59 yards and a touchdown. Avanta Fredieu had two catches for four yards. Ja’Torion Moore had one reception for 34 yards.

On defense, the Tigers were led by Cooks who had 13 total tackles and two tackles for a loss. Seth Stokes had seven tackles with two tackles for a loss with three QB hurries. Jaylon Williams also tallied seven tackles with one for a loss. Ross and Kenney each had seven tackles of their own.

Tenaha has one more challenge to overcome before heading into district play, the De Kalb Bears. De Kalb is 1-2 heading into this week’s game.

Do not let their record fool you into thinking the Tigers can coast through this game. De Kalb is a 3A Division II school placing them two classifications larger than Tenaha.

The Tigers will need to keep their head on straight and come prepared for a battle to earn the victory here.
