CENTER Softball—The Center Lady Roughriders fell 7-5 to the Carthage Lady Bulldogs on Tuesday, March 28. Center provided a strong showing in the final two innings after remaining scoreless through the first five. Unfortunately, their comeback attempt was cut short.

The following Friday, the Lady Riders hosted the Henderson Lady Lions. Henderson sealed the game early with a big nine-run inning. Henderson took the victory 11-1.

Baseball—The Roughriders played two games against district opponent Kilgore last week. The first game took place on Tuesday. Center was unable to battle back from an early Kilgore lead and fell 7-1.

On Friday, The Riders played a tighter game with the Bulldogs. The final result would remain the same with Kilgore taking a 2-1 win. JOAQUIN Softball—The Joaquin Lady Rams finished last week with a district win and a weather delay. On Tuesday, Joaquin traveled to Garrison to face the Lady Bulldogs. J. King led the Lady Rams with four hits. T. Wilson led the team in RBIs with three. B. Bagley pitched the entire five-inning game striking out three.

On Friday, the Lady Rams traveled to Mount Enterprise to face the Lady Wildcats. Weather forced the teams to postpone the final two innings until Monday, April 3. After reconvening, Joaquin put up a massive 33-9 win. A. Webb led the team with eight RBIs. Bagley pitched six strikeouts over four innings.

Baseball—Last week, the Rams faced off against the Shelbyville Dragons twice. Their first game took place in Joaquin, where Shelbyville got the upper hand in the fifth inning after trailing most of the game. Shelbyville earned a 14-9 victory on the road.

Joaquin then traveled to Shelbyville for the rematch. The Rams were able to make adjustments based on the loss and walked away with a 6-4 victory. Maddox Hutchings took on the lion’s share of pitching duties for the Rams and finished with six strikeouts after just over five innings. SHELBYVILLE Softball—The Lady Dragons traveled to Beckville on Tuesday, March 28. Beckville put up five runs in the first inning holding Shelbyville to zero. The Lady Dragons trailed throughout this game culminating in a 7-1 loss for the Shelbyville softball club.

Baseball— As mentioned before within this article, Shelbyville faced Joaquin twice last week resulting in a split 1-1 record for the rivals. Shelbyville took a 14-9 victory on the road in their first meeting. G. Duvon led the team with 3 RBIs. Dylan Parker pitched just over six innings for the Dragons. He completed the game with nine strikeouts and 17 first pitch strikes. TIMPSON Softball—The Timpson Lady Bears played the Beckville Lady Bearcats in a tight game to wrap up the week. The two teams kept things knotted up all the way through the fourth inning. Beckville gained a one-run advantage in the fifth that would ultimately lead to a 2-1 loss for the Lady Bears.
