CENTER

Softball - The Center Lady Roughriders dropped a 16-6 game against the Henderson Lady Lions on the road Tuesday, April 11. J. Bird pitched three innings for the Riders with 12 first-pitch strikes. R. Youngblood led Center in RBIs with three.

Baseball - The Center Roughriders lost back-to-back games against Spring Hill last week. On Tuesday, the Riders traveled to Spring Hill High School in Longview for a game that concluded in a 16-0 shutout. On Friday, Center fell scoreless once more, this time by a 5-0 margin.

JOAQUIN

Softball - The Joaquin Lady Rams competed in two games with mixed results. Their Tuesday, April 11 game ended in a 3-0 shutout over the Timpson Lady Bears. B. Bagley pitched seven innings for the Lady Rams, striking out six in the process. Then on Friday, April 14, the Lady Rams hosted the Beckville Lady Bearcats. Beckville would walk away with the win on a 7-3 final. Bagley pitched a complete seven innings in this one as well with 21 first-pitch strikes.

Baseball - On Tuesday, April 11, the Joaquin Rams faced the Woden Eagles in a doubleheader. In game one, the Rams fell 8-7 after a tough back-and-forth matchup. M. Hutchins and T. Hawkins led the Rams with two RBIs each. Joaquin bounced back in the follow up game with a 12-2 thrashing. B. Anglin pitched five innings and struck out nine batters. K. Brooks led the Rams with three RBIs.

SHELBYVILLE

Softball - The Lady Dragons of Shelbyville held two opponents scoreless last week in two road wins. First, Shelbyville traveled to Garrison and earned a 13-0 win over the Lady Bulldogs. Taylor Jones handled pitching duties for the five-inning contest. Jones also led the Lady Dragons at the plate going four for four with four RBIs.

Then on Friday, the Lady Dragons took a trip to Mount Enterprise where they notched a 10-0 victory over the Lady Wildcats. Lanie Bass pitched the full five innings for the Lady Dragons and tallied 12 strikeouts. Nicole Harvey led Shelbyville with two RBIs.

Baseball - Shelbyville’s record is two wins richer following two wins over the Gary Bobcats last week. In their first meeting, Shelbyville finished the game with a 6-1 advantage. Dylan Parker held the mound for the Dragons, striking out eight batters over seven innings. Tucker Clark’s finished the game with two RBIs.

Gary played with more intensity in their subsequent matchup. Shelbyville earned the win by a much thinner margin of 8-7. The Dragons built an early 5-1 lead after the first inning, but a late push by the Bobcats tied the game in the sixth inning. Shelbyville would only be able to muster one run in the final inning putting the pressure on their defense. The Dragons defense responded by holding the Bobcats scoreless and earning the win.

TIMPSON

Softball - The Timpson Lady Bears were unable to overcome Joaquin on Tuesday, April 11, but they did bounce back in an 18-2 beatdown delivered to the Martinsville Lady Pirates. Alexis Grigsby led the Lady Bears at the plate with four appearances, three hits, and four RBI’s. Freshman Colbi Ford pitched the full four-inning game and finished with four strikeouts.
