Center Boys - The Center Roughriders completed their last week of district play with a win over Kilgore on Tuesday and a win over Carthage on Friday. Senior Marmar Evans dropped a 26-point total to lead the Riders in their victory over Kilgore. Junior Emonte Cross tallied 22 points in Center’s matchup with Carthage, earning top scorer for the Roughriders in that match.

Center appears to be headed toward a tie for first place in their district with Chapel Hill, so look for the Riders to head into playoffs as either the first or second seed.

Girls - Despite missing the playoffs, the Lady Roughriders were able to end their season on a high note with a win over the Henderson Lady Lions. The game ended with a final score of 49-26.

Joaquin Boys - This has been a tough season for the Joaquin Rams. Tuesday Joaquin fell 57-48 to the Gary Bobcats, and Friday they came up short of winning against the Shelbyville Dragons with a final of 51-45. The Rams have fallen within 10 points in more than a handful of their district matchups. Their record will tell one tale, but it’s easy to see that the Rams are a much better team than their record would have fans believe.

Girls - The Lady Rams ended the regular season with a win over the Gary Lady Bobcats. Following the 53-23 win, Joaquin will head into the playoffs as the number three seed from the district.

Shelbyville Boys - Shelbyville pulled off an upset win over the No. 16 Bearcats. The Dragons were down by one point with less than 10 seconds on the clock. D.J. Barnes received the ball on an inbound play and then proceeded to go baseline and earn a 58-57 victory just before the buzzer.

Shelbyville ended their district play with a 51-45 victory over the Joaquin Rams.

Girls - The Lady Dragons ended their season with a 3329 loss to the Beckville Lady Bearcats.

Tenaha Boys - Tenaha’s boys had a rough week. Faced with two ranked opponents, Tenaha was unable to overcome either team. The final score of their game with Timpson was 6852, and their game with Beckville ended 71-65.

Tenaha appears to be headed to the playoffs in the number four spot for District 23-2A.

Girls - Tenaha’s girls are currently ranked No. 4 for 2A girls’ basketball. Their 77-39 win over the Timpson Lady Bears sealed an undefeated year in district play.

Timpson Boys - No. 11 Timpson finished district with a 68-52 win over the Tenaha Tigers and a 72-51 win in Garrison. Timpson holds the top spot in an ultra-competitive District 23-2A heading into playoffs.

Girls - Timpson’s girls fell short in their matchup with Tenaha 77-39.
