CENTER Softball—The Center Lady Roughriders fell 4-2 to the Gilmer on Tuesday, April 4. After two innings the game remained scoreless. Gilmer finally had runners cross the plate in the third giving them a 3-0 advantage. Center attempted to stage a comeback, but the Lady Roughriders were unable to close the gap.

On Monday, April 10, Center fell a second time to Carthage. Carthage built a 4-2 lead after two innings. After six innings, the final score rested at 12-2, Carthage.

Baseball—The Center Roughriders won back-to-back games with Henderson last week. First on Tuesday, the Riders defended their home turf to the tune of a 6-4 victory. On Thursday, Center defeated the Lions in Henderson 6-2.

JOAQUIN Softball—The Joaquin Lady Rams won a blowout 15-1 game in Martinsville against the Lady Pirates on Tuesday, April 4. E. Bradshaw led the Lady Rams with four RBIs. J. Cater pitched the entire five-inning game and struck out four batters.

The Lady Rams hosted the Shelbyville Lady Dragons the following Monday. Unfortunately for Joaquin, Shelbyville earned a 7-3 win despite the Rams gaining a slight advantage early on.

Baseball—On Tuesday, April 4 the Joaquin Rams battled back from an early deficit in Gary. The Bobcats posted a four-run second inning giving them the advantage. Joaquin fought and entered the seventh inning down by one. The Rams then added four runs before shutting the Bobcats down in the bottom of the inning. Joaquin earned the hard fought 8-5 win.

The following Thursday, the Rams faced Gary once more. This time, Joaquin closed the game out in five innings with an 11-0 win at home. K. Brooks led the team with four RBIs.

SHELBYVILLE Softball—On Tuesday, April 4, the Shelbyville Lady Dragons fell in a tight game against the Timpson Lady Bears. Shelbyville fought hard and tied things up at 5-5 after the top of the seventh inning. Timpson ended the game in the bottom half of the last inning bringing the score to 6-5.

On Monday, April 10, the Lady Dragons earned a 7-3 win over the Joaquin Lady Rams. Shelbyville entered the third inning down by two. The Lady Dragons tied things up headed into the fourth. A four-run seventh inning sealed the win for Shelbyville. L. Bass pitched a complete seven-inning game with 13 strikeouts and 20 first-pitch strikes.

Baseball—Shelbyville defeated the Mount Enterprise Wildcats handily in back-to-back games last week. In the first, the Dragons traveled to Mount Enterprise and earned a 12-4 win after gaining an early lead and never looking back. J. Raymond handled the lion’s share of pitching duties. He pitched just over four innings and finished with eight strikeouts and 17 first-pitch strikes.

On Thursday, Shelbyville picked up right where they left off. This game resulted in a 16-0 win for the Dragons after five innings. Weston Frick led the team with five RBIs. Dylan Parker pitched the entire five innings and struck out six batters.

TIMPSON

Softball—The Timpson Lady Bears outlasted the Shelbyville Lady Dragons in a tight matchup last week. Shelbyville tied things up late, but the Lady Bears battled at the plate and earned a 6-5 win.
