Vera D. Roberts, 79, of Tenaha, passed away Friday, Nov. 10, 2023, in Tyler.

Visitation was held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 14, 2023, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 15, 2023, at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Hollis Bass officiating. Interment will follow at Ramah Cemetery in Tenaha.

Born January 29, 1944, in Panola County, Vera is the daughter of George Davis Jr and James Vernie Lawhorn Davis. She worked in the cafeteria at Center ISD for more than 23 years. She enjoyed her time at the Senior Citizen’s Center in Joaquin. Vera loved her church family at Old Home Baptist Church. 

She is survived by her husband, William Lee “Wild Bill” Roberts of Tenaha; sons, Eddie Dewayne Estes and wife Mickey of Joaquin and James Ray Estes of the Dreka Community; daughter-in-law, Angel Rogers of Joaquin; stepchildren, Elizabeth Middlebrooks and husband Derrick of San Antonio and Frank Albert Roberts of Center; grandchildren, Michael Middlebrooks, Adam Roe and wife Kayla, Andrea Estes, Tiffany Kendrick and husband Bubba, Ben Middlebrooks and wife Ryla, Ashley Puckett and husband Jordan, Shannon Roberts, Rachel Middlebrooks, Michael Wayne Estes, Shane Roberts, Mason Roberts, Logan Roberts, Kevin Roberts, and Alaina Roberts, Ethan Brandon, and Marlea Brandon; great-grandchildren, A.J. Roe, Hondo Roe, Maddilynn Roe, Lila Roe, Easton Holt, Jaxon Holt, Ryan Kendrick, Caitlyn Kendrick, and Asher Middlebrooks; sister, Mary Skinner of Tomball; sisters-in-law, Cherry Davis and Betty Davis; special niece, Misty Davis; also, numerous other nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by parents, George Davis Jr. and James Vernie Lawhorn Davis; son, Jerry Michael Estes; and brothers, Billy Davis, Johnny Davis, and Wayne Davis.

Pallbearers will be Adam Roe, Michael Estes, Bubba Kendrick, Ethan Brandon, and Eddie Estes. Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandsons.
