Preston Windham, 98, of Center, passed away on Friday, April 3, 2026, in Center. Funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m., Saturday, April 11, 2026, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, April 10, 2026, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home.
Interment will be at Sholar Cemetery in Joaquin. Bro. Brandon Jones will be officiating.
Preston Windham was born January 12, 1928, in Shelby County, Texas. He was born to Lucius Lonnie Windham and Velma Carol McGee Windham.
He is survived by his daughter, Lucretia Johnson and husband, Roy of Campbell, Texas; his son, Michael Ledean Windham and wife, Jennifer of Center, Texas; daughter-in-law Rhonda Windham of Dayton, Texas; grandsons, Royce Johnson and wife Melissa, Joe Johnson and wife Jennifer, and Justin Johnson; granddaughter, Miranda and husband, Stephen Watson; eight great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Stephen Griffin and Preston would always call him his adopted youngin.
He is preceded in death by his wife Jimmie Marcelle Risinger Windham; his parents Lucius and Velma Windham; son, Marcia Lamerel Windham; grandson, Johnny Windham; granddaughters Misty, Michele, and Christina Windham; daughter-in-law Sharon Windham; and his three brothers and their wives.
