August 11, 1929 – April 25, 2023

Peggy J. Rader passed away late in the evening on April 24, 2003, in her home, surrounded by her family. Peggy was the surviving spouse of Donald M. Rader to whom she was married for 47 years. They had five children, 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Peggy Jean Parker Rader was born in Tenaha, Texas in 1929 to Rogers Burns Parker and Wylma Poplin Parker. Her siblings, now deceased, were Roselyn Parker Harrigan-Bagwell and Franklin Burns Parker.

Aunt Peggy, as she was lovingly called, had nieces and nephews in East Texas that adored her.

Peggy and her husband had made Auburn their home since 1984. She was an active member of the community. She was a founder of the St. Joseph's thrift store and volunteered there for about 30 years.

She enjoyed singing in the church choir and was a member of the Catholic Ladies Association. She was a eucharistic minister to the sick and home bound, as well as the Red Hat Society.

Peggy loved her family, loved the Lord, and loved being of service. She was an amazing woman, and her family is grateful that she is now resting in peace.

A service was held for her Tuesday May 16 at 1 p.m. at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, 11600 Atwood Rd Auburn, Calif. 95603.
