Patricia Ruth Hand, 73, of Shelbyville, Texas, passed away peacefully on December 31, 2025, in Center, Texas. Patricia was a beacon of love and kindness in the lives of all who knew her. Graveside service was held on Tuesday, February 6, 2026, at Strong Cemetery with Bro. Gordon Vaughn officiating.
A proud alumna of Stephen F. Austin State University, Patricia went on to lead a life marked by service to others. Her career spanned over 17 years at Huxley Bay Marina, and was followed by a decade of dedication at Farmers State Bank. Her tireless work ethic and benevolence left a lasting legacy in her professional circles. At home in Huxley with her beloved husband, Rocky Hand, Patricia found happiness in the natural serenity of lakeside living. Her love for the great outdoors was eclipsed only by her devotion to family and friends.
Though she has departed from this earthly realm, her spirit continues to inspire those she leaves behind, including: her cherished husband, Rocky Hand of Shelbyville, Texas; brother, Dr. Michael Ruth of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; many friends and extended family that will miss her dearly.
Patricia is preceded in death by her parents. Patricia will be remembered for her warm spirit and the deep impact she made on those around her through her kindness and dedication.
