Mary Lynn Paxton, 82, of Longview, formerly of Center, entered into the arms of Jesus on Thursday, July 10, 2025, in Longview.
Visitation was held from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday, July 14, 2025, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. A celebration of Mary’s life was held at 11:00 a.m., July 15, 2025, at Watson & Sons Chapel. Interment followed at Restland Cemetery in Tenaha.
Born September 28, 1942, in Shelby County, Mary is the daughter of Neil Gillis and Joyce Holt Scott. She worked in the cafeteria at Center ISD for over thirty years, a job she dearly loved. Mary’s hobbies included reading, going to the beach, and looking at beautiful flowers. Being a grandmother was one of her greatest joys in life. Mary was a member of Alpine Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Shana and husband, Mark Jones, of Gilmer and Kim Marshall of Longview; son, Charles Paxton of Longview; five grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
Already in Heaven waiting to welcome her was her husband, Charles Paxton; granddaughter, Caitlyn Jones; parents, Neil Gillis and Joyce Holt Scott; brother, Bob Crocker; and sister, Sue Walker.
Pallbearers were Tucker Jones, Charles Paxton, Chuck Collins, Mark Jones, Dyllan Fields, Kevin Walker, and Tristin Paxton.
