Lela Mae Minton, 86, of Center, passed away Thursday, Nov. 9, 2023, in Nacogdoches.
Graveside service was held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 12, 2023, at Mt. Olive Cemetery in the Silas Community of Shelby County with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. Bro. Gordon Vaughn officiated.
Born March 1, 1937, Lela is the daughter of James Oscar Vaught Sr. and Lena Francis Vaught. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church in the Silas Community of Shelby County.
She is survived by her nephews and niece, Bobby Hendricks and wife, Rhonda of Timpson, Lisa Hendricks and fiancée, David Hebert of Timpson, Troyce Hendricks and wife, Emily of Minden, Louisiana, Roger Hendricks of West Palm Beach, Florida, and DeWayne Hendricks of Timpson; numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Preceded in death by husband, Ben Minton; twin sister, Faye Vaught Hendricks; four sisters; and six brothers.
