Funeral services for Ethelda “Scooter” Davis, 84, of Lufkin were held Saturday, March 18, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. in the Carroway Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Kent Childers officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. Davis was born September 25, 1938, in Center, Texas to the late Olean McClain and Buren Chandler, and died Sunday, March 12, 2023 in a hospice facility in Tyler.
Mrs. Davis had resided in Lufkin for 50 years and was a member of Providence Baptist Church.
Survivors include her son-in-law, Randy Baggett of Tyler; five grandsons; 10 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Chester R. Davis; son, Jay “Randy” Davis; daughters, Wanda Ray Baggett, Rita Jo Manthey; and brother, Delton Chandler.
The family welcomed friends and loved ones from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday morning prior to the service.
