Hicks Mortuary is announcing funeral services for Mrs. Darlene Gardner (56) of Shelbyville, Texas. Darlene was born July 6, 1966, to Earsel Gardner and Molene Mathews Gardner. Darlene died January 16, 2023, in Spring, Texas at a family member’s residence.
Funeral service was Saturday, Jan. 26, 2023, at Bright Morning Star Baptist Church located 623 Martin Luther King Drive in Center at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Frankie Cooper will be officiated.
Darlene Gardner is survived by two Sons, Derrick Gardner and wife Jeanie of Spring and Eric Gardner of Center.
One daughter, Tiffanie Gardner of Center.
Five grandchildren, Clydarius, Ja’Mori, Ja’Quez, Ja’Dus and Shakira
One great-grandson, Bryson Amir Johnson.
Two sisters, Dorothy (Leo) McCollister of Tyler and Dorothy Lavearn Cartwright of Shelbyville.
Darlene was proceeded in death by both parents, two brothers, Waymon Gardner and Dewey Gardner; one sister, Annie Mae Gardner; and one brother-in-law, A.T. Cartwright.

Committal was at St John Cemetery (Africa Community).
Service was entrusted to Hicks Mortuary 804 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive Center, Texas 75935.
