Bobby Dean Cheatwood

Bobby Dean Cheatwood, 68, of Carthage, passed away Saturday, August 12, 2023, in Tyler.

Visitation was Friday, August 18, 2023, at Watson & Sons Funeral Home in Center. Funeral service was 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 19, 2023, at Watson & Sons Chapel with Bro. Joe Walker officiating. Interment followed at O.E. Price Cemetery in Logansport, La.

Born October 22, 1954, in Shreveport, La., Bobby is the son of Joe Neil Cheatwood and Iva Jean Pierce Cheatwood. Bob worked in the oilfield for many years. After retiring in 2021, his passion was operating a motor grader for Road and Bridge Precinct 3 in Shelby County. Bobby was also an exceptional mechanic who could work on and fix anything. He loved hunting, fishing, and dancing. He also had a love for animals of all kinds, especially Ox, his dog, who meant the world to him.

He is survived by his daughter, Amber Cheatwood Whiddon and husband Aaron; sisters and brothers, Janice Bonner and husband James, Roy Cheatwood and wife Jackie, Patti Hogg and husband Cleve, Carolyn Lee, and Judy Choate; nieces and nephews, Jon Bonner, Jamie Briggs, Roy Gene Cheatwood, David Cheatwood, Patrick Hogg, Mark Cheatwood, Eric Collier, Neil Choate, and Debbie Choate.

Preceded in death by parents, Joe Neil Cheatwood and Iva Jean Pierce Cheatwood; brother, Curtis Cheatwood.
