Bobby “Bob” Ray Powell, 81, of Shelbyville, Texas, passed away on April 15, 2023, in Nacogdoches. He was born on November 6, 1941, in Denton County, Texas, to the late J.M. and Mary Ella Powell.

Funeral services will be held at Mangum Funeral Home, on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at 2 p.m. with Bro. Don Windham and Bro. Dan Flemings officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, beginning at 1 p.m. until service time at Mangum Funeral Home. Interment will follow at West Hamilton Cemetery, in Shelbyville, Texas.

Bob was born in Denton County, Texas and that is where he also graduated from high school. Bob met the love of his life, Delsia Denby, through his Uncle Johnny and Juanita. The two were married in 1983 and have shared over 40 wonderful years of wedded bliss. Bob worked as a printer at the Taylor Publishing Company in Dallas. After retiring, they made their home in Shelby County.

Bob was a loving husband, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great grandfather. He enjoyed spending time with his family. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed every sport. He loved TCU, Texas Rangers, and the Dallas Cowboys. You could find Bob fishing, attending fellowships at church, or spending time with his friends and family. He loved the Lord and served through his membership at Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.

Bob is survived by his loving wife, Delsia Powell.

Brothers, Billy Powell and wife Trish, Jerry Powell.

Grandchildren, Donnice Roberts and the late SSG Casey Roberts, Codey Yates, Rusty Bailey and wife Lara, James Bailey.

Great-Grandchildren, Caehlen Austin and husband Taylor, Keeghan Roberts, Brehnley Roberts, Riley Yates, Reagan Yates, Allie Bailey, Austin Bailey.

Great-Great Grandson, Christopher Austin.

He is preceded in death by his parents, J.M. and Mary Ella Powell; grandson, SSG Casey Roberts; and his Uncle Johnny and Juanita.
