40 Years Ago...
  • A 100th year anniversary celebration was held for the historical Shelby County courthouse on Saturday, March 23 with a large crowd gathering for the event, which included the opening of the cornerstone of the building. Unfortunately, once the cornerstone was opened it was found to be empty. Before it was re-sealed, a copy of the previous week’s Light and Champion, a Bible, a program from the anniversary celebration and other items were placed in the cornerstone.
