(From a column dated October 4, 2002) ••••••• Work began May 12, 1926, on the construction of Magnolia Pipe Line on Shelbyville Road. The land was purchased from N.O. Dekle and gave work to hundreds of people for many years.
After the project was completed, many new families moved to Center, including the F.E Emerys, the Webbs, Buckleways, Britts and Fountains.
