Rayford Earl Danley of Joaquin, devoted husband, loving father, beloved grandfather and great grandfather.

Funeral service was held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 11, 2024, at Logansport Missionary Baptist Church with visitation beginning at noon. Bro. Joe Walker officiated.

Born in Aiken, Texas on June 9, 1941, and passed from this earth to his Heavenly Home on May 6, 2024, in Shreveport, La.

Earl spent his life with his first wife, Melba Faye Danley of 40 years, in Baytown, Texas. He retired from Merichem after 27 years of hard work and dedication. During his tenure, he invented a ‘black box’ proven to save the company a lot of money. Earl was known as ‘Mr. Fixit.’ He loved to deer hunt and fish.

He also had a passion for woodworking. After the death of Melba, Earl retired and moved to his property in Joaquin. After some time, he met Lula Belle Jansen, they wed and spent the next 20 years together enjoying life.

Earl was a devoted member and deacon at Logansport Missionary Baptist Church. He was known for always bringing chicken and dumplings for the church gatherings and taking care of anything that broke.

Left to cherish his memory are two daughters and a son, Debbie Medows of Baytown, Texas, Donna Boutin (Lonnie) of Highlands, Texas, and Tommy Danley (Paula) of Baytown. Stepdaughters Tina Mattingly of Bullard, Texas and Renee Hagler (Ronny) of Shelbyville. Brothers and sisters Allan Danley of Porter, Texas, Cathy Adams of Center, and Janet Watson of Center. Grandchildren, Rex Medows (Kristine), Ashley Huntley (Ray), Crystal Lemus (Ricky), Heather Reed (Bruce), Wren Galloway (Hillary), Brent Moore, Madison Danley, Malorie Danley, Ainsley Mattingly (Colton). Jansen Mattingly, Angela Thornton (Daniel), Ronna McSwain (Roscoe), Candace Wheeler (Brett), and Skylar Ashe (Thomas).

Seventeen great grandchildren. Nieces and nephews and a host of family and friends.

A special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Christus Highland Hospital.

Pallbearers will be Rex Medows, Ricky Lemus, Ray Huntley, Bruce Reed, Wren Galloway, and Jansen Mattingly. Honorary pallbearer will be Blake Ainsworth.
