  • The JVFD responded to a house fire on CR 3605 Saturday night.The house was fully engulfed. With the aid of DeSoto Fire District 1, the JVFD knocked the fire down within a couple of hours. The occupant escaped but the house was a complete loss. (JVFD photo)

    The week of May 14 through 20 yielded five calls for the Joaquin Volunteer Fire Department. Sunday morning at 9:59 a.m. a call was received for male possibly having a heart attack at a residence on Highway 84 East. The JVFD medical team responded to assist Allegiance EMS with the patient.
