The first annual Octavian Burrell Scholarship Fundraiser event is planned for Saturday, March 25 the Augus Theater, 110 E. Columbia Street in San Augustine. The fun begins at 6:00 p.m. with a buffet dinner.
Ten rounds of bingo will follow with every round guaranteed a winner. Tickets are $25 and tables are $200. 21-year-old Octavian Burrell was killed in a car wreck on State Highway 147 south of San Augustine on November 4, 2018.
“We want to keep this going and make it an annual thing,” said his mother, Shelly Burrell. “I just want to keep his name alive. Burrell said that Octavian had a lot of support and scholarships. That many people had faith in him to succeed “I want to give that support back,” she said. “I want to continue his legacy.”
