Dr. Bobbye Lee Worsham

Bobbye was born on December 8, 1934, to Esker and Aline Worsham. He lived in Center, Texas until enrolling at The University of Texas. He completed graduate work at Baylor University, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, and was awarded a Doctorate of Theology in 1993 from The International Seminary. 

Bobbye served as a Minister of Music at several churches in Texas and enjoyed being a part of several Southern Gospel Singing Quartets. His greatest years of ministry were spent serving alongside his wife Doris as Pastor of Second Baptist in La Porte for 32 years. He was the Prayer Coordinator for the San Jacinto Baptist Association and had served on the executive board. His greatest passions were sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ and ministering to the people of his congregation and community.  

Bobbye was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great-grandfather and friend. He was a mentor, pastor and spiritual leader to countless people. He was admired, respected and loved by many. 

Visitation was Friday, Feb. 3rd at Deer Park Funeral Directors in Deer Park. 

A memorial service was held at Second Baptist Church in La Porte on Saturday, Feb. 4th. All expressions of sympathy, including flowers, honorary donations to Second Baptist Church in La Porte, and cards are welcome.
