Carrie E. Holloway Graves, 65, of Shelbyville, Texas, passed away Jan. 16, 2023, in Nacogdoches, Texas, surrounded by loved ones. She was born Nov. 20, 1957, in Grants, N.M., to the late Charles Ray Adkison and Carrie Nelda Bobbitt Adkison.
Visitation was held Thursday, Jan. 19, 2023, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Mangum Funeral Home. Funeral service was held at Mangum Funeral Home Friday, Jan. 20, 2023, at 2 p.m. with Bro. Don Noble officiating. Interment will follow at Antioch Cemetery, Center, Texas.
Carrie grew up in Mt. Herman Community in Shelby County. She graduated Center High School Class of 1975. She met the love of her life, Jerry Holloway, through mutual friends and the two were married in June 1988. They had two wonderful children, Jerrod and Monica. Many wonderful years were spent together before his passing in 2001. Carrie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She enjoyed taking care of her plants and shopping. Carrie cherished every moment with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She loved keeping up with extended family and attending family reunions.
She is survived by her children, Amber Havard and husband Clint, Jerrod Holloway and wife Macey, Monica Sholar and husband Heath; brother, Jerry Adkison and wife Jamie; sister, Kimberly Smith; grandchildren, Bailey Allen, Heaven Marcus, Kennedy Marcus, Jackson Holloway, Milly Holloway, Tenley Sholar, Tessa Sholar, Taelyn Sholar; great grandchildren, Axel Aguirre, Ella Aguirre; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins; and a host of family and friends that will miss her dearly.
Carrie is preceded in death by her loving husband, Jerry Holloway; and parents, Charles Ray and Carrie Nelda Adkison.
Pallbearers serving will be Heath Sholar, Jackson Holloway, Jerrod Nutt, James Mangan, Robert Bolton and C.J. Collier.
