Alice Jo (Hudson) Hooker

Alice Jo (Hudson) Hooker (92) passed away Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2023, in Bradenton, Fla.

She was born in Loudon, Tenn. on January 4, 1931, to Joseph H. Hudson and Velma Olivia Crouch Hudson. She graduated from Loudon High School in 1949 and was married to Dixon Dale Hooker for 65 years.

She worked as an administrative assistant for the project manager for Night Vision under the Corp. of Engineers at Fort Belvoir, Va. during the 1960s. Later after moving to Center, Texas in the early 1970s, she was the office manager at Memorial Clinic owned by her brother-in-law, Dr. Joe B. Hooker. She served as administration assistant for the First Baptist Church in Welaka, Fla from 1996 to 2016.

She is survived by daughter, Linda Ruth and Eddie Chung of Bradenton, Fla. Grandchildren Michael and Julie Bartle, New Braunfels, Texas; Joseph and Ruthie Bartle, Lindale, Texas and Amanda and Steven Tackett, Diana, Texas.

Eleven great-grandchildren.

Sister, Doris Ann (Hudson) Hodge of Loudon, Tenn.

Numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Joseph and Velma Hudson, and loving husband of 65 years, Dixon Dale Hooker.

Half-brothers Robert H. Hudson and Carl Randolph Hudson.

Brother-in-laws Jack Hodge, Charles D. Hooker, Joe B. Hooker, and Olan Williamson

Sisters-in-law Kathleen Hudson, Lois Hudson, Verdine Williamson, Marie Hooker, Marian Hooker, Gertrude Langdon.
