So far, 2025 is showing us that property taxes in Texas is ever changing. The 89th Legislative Session kicked off on Jan. 14 with property tax as one of the main topics.Several new bills have been written and introduced to reduce property taxes for homesteaded and non-homesteaded properties.

The Shelby County Clerk’s Office is proud to announce the launch of Property Fraud Alert, a free notification service to help notify citizens against potential property fraud. This service is now available to anyone that owns property in Shelby County.

According to information released by the Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas, one in ten children will be sexually abused before their 18th birthday.In 2020, 61,891 Texas children suffered from child abuse, 65 percent of them female and 35 percent male.

Council approves city park contracts
