Joaquin Jr.High student Lucinda David (third from the right) was presented with her third place District 19 award earned in the youth essay program “Patriot’s Pen” by VFW Post 8904 and the Auxiliary Friday, Jan. 27, 2023. She received an engraved plaque and a check for $100. Last year, Lucinda also won the Post 8904 competition and placed second at the district level.This next school year she will be eligible to enter the “Voice of Democracy” competition as a high school freshman.
