Mason Kay (standing center) was home during Christmas break from Shepherd’s College where he is in the first year of a three-year program. Mason is the son of Marty and Renee Kay (standing with Mason). Shepherd’s College is the nation’s leading post-secondary school created with the learning needs of young adults with autism.“Some of his first-year classes are training for life occupational health, banking and culinary skills basics,” said Renee.“We are grateful to the community for supporting our 2022 quilt raffle to assist with the costs.The drawing was held at the East Texas Poultry Festival last fall, and we are happy to get together today with the winners, Lavone Wood (seated center), Matt Snider (seated right), and Brandi Gilchrist (seated left) to introduce them to Mason.” Another quilt raffle is planned for the 2023 Poultry Festival.“We hope to see some familiar faces then.”The Kays expressed their appreciation to the winners and to everyone who participated in the quilt raffle.
