General Shelters of Texas launched its 50th anniversary celebration Monday with a drawing to select a “50th Anniversary” model.

For selection of the anniversary building, the local manufacturer of portable buildings since 1973 called on employees, asking them to vote for their preferred prototype. At the conclusion of the balloting, the company conducted a drawing from the voters of each model and awarded the prototypes to two employees.

Shelby County Chamber of Commerce President Deborah Chadwick conducted the drawing.

The winning model, the “Sun Shed” was won by Clint Tanner. The second model, the “Studio Shed,” was won by Antonio Cantu.

A limited edition of 50 “Sun Sheds” will be produced in recognition of 50 years in business. ter native James Campbell five decades ago.
