Ella Grace and Eliza Faith Fuller arrived home in Center, Tuesday, July 11, after four months in the neonatal intensive care unit and a complex six-hour surgery at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.

Ella and Eliza are the twin daughters of Sandy and Jesse Fuller of Center. The Shelby County couple learned their twins were conjoined during a routine ultrasound in Sandy's second trimester.

According to a story by KHOU 11, Sandy said their faith has guided them through the entire journey.

"When I found out they were going to be conjoined,” Sandy said. “I trusted God's plan.” She added that she knew He was going to work it out.

Sandy and Jesse spent time with the babies before they were taken to surgery on June 14 when the family held hands and prayed with the surgical team.

The twins were successfully separated by a team including seven surgeons, four anesthesiologists, four surgical nurses and two surgical technicians.

Sandy and Jesse held their baby daughters separately for the first time three days after the surgery.

The Fuller family arrived in Center Tuesday afternoon escorted by local law enforcement. They were greeted by well-wishers and friends who gathered on the downtown square to welcome the family home.
