Donation made Center real

I found in one of my history files about Jesse Amason and how he obtained his Shelby County, Texas land, which he was able to donate a portion of it to Center for our town. Amason received 640 acres on Dec. 10, 1850 for his service in the Siege of Bexar in the Mexican War. He was a Captain in the Mexican War and was a bugler.
