SATURDAY, Feb. 11

• Outreach Ministries fundraiser Shelby County Outreach Ministries Praise 2023 fundraiser at the John D. Windham Civic Center starting at 5:30 p.m. Entertainment and refreshments plus live and silent auctions. Proceeds helping Shelby County Outreach Ministries feed the hungry and assist the needy. SUNDAY, Feb. 12-15

• Neuville Baptist revival Neuville Baptist Church will hold a revival February 12 through 15. Everyone is invited to attend. Sunday morning service is at 10:45 a.m., Sunday evening at 5:30 p.m., and Monday through Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

WEDNESDAY, Feb. 15

• Shelby County Memorial Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8904 and the Auxiliary observance of sacrifices made by Veterans of the Spanish American War and those who died aboard the USS Maine. WEDNESDAY, Feb. 15

• CAC Princess Ball Shelby County Children’s Advocacy Center Princess Ball from 5:00 pm to 7:00 p.m. at the John D. Windham Civic Center. Open to girls ages 3-13 and their adult family member escort. Tickets are $25 and go on sale January 18. Table reservations for parties of eight are available for an additional $50. Tickets must be purchased at the CAC before the event—no tickets will be sold at the door. • Shelby County Author’s Day Fannie Brown Booth Memorial Library inaugural Shelby County Author’s Day Feb. 18 at the John D. Windham Civic Center from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Local authors attending with published works ranging from thriller/ espionage fiction, Christian romance, inspirational, children’s picture books, historical non-fiction, and journalism.

SATURDAY, Feb. 18

• SCSO CPR/AED course Shelby County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) CPR/AED course for anyone wanting to attend. Two class times available: 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. at the Windham Civic Center located at 146 Express Blvd in Center. Fee $35. Topics include CPR for adult, child, infant, anti-choking training. Includes certification for AED (automated external defibrillator). Certification card valid for two years. Limited to 20 attendees per course. THROUGH Feb. 20

• A Matter of Balance Area Agency on Aging (AAA) of Deep East Texas workshops can help reduce the fear of falling and increase the activity levels of older adults that have concerns about falling. Sessions over eight consecutive Tuesdays starting Jan. 3 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in the Senior Nutrition Site, 124 Haley Dr. in Center. There is no fee for participating in the program. TUESDAY Feb. 21-23

• Child passenger seat safety Certified technicians coming to Center can provide child passenger safety education, help parents with seat installations, be a technician at car seat checkups. $95 fee payable online to Safe Kids. Includes two years of certification and the training manual. Training is three days long. Sponsored by Texas A&M AgriLife Passenger Safety & KidSafe Initiatives in cooperation with the Texas Department of Transportation Lufkin District. Appropriate COVID-19 protocols will be followed. • Shelby County Commissioners Court meets Wednesdays at 9 a.m. at the Shelby County Courthouse.

• NA/AA - We can help. Meetings Fridays and Saturdays 6:30 to7:30 at St. John’s Episcopal Church, Highway 96 South across from High Rollers in Center.

• Youth Wednesday night services at Mount Calvary Full Gospel Church located at 5527 FM 417 East, Shelbyville, will begin at 6:30 each evening. Come enjoy the fun inside and outside games and Bible study.
